Friends of Johnson County Agriculture
Our Vision
Our Story
To develop a fund for the purpose of promoting and sustaining agriculture in Johnson County that will help foster public awareness of the agricultural industry and ultimately give back to the community through a variety of charitable programs.
This fund was started by a small group of seven individuals who participated in the Leadership Johnson County Program.  Along with the Johnson County Community Foundation our hopes are that this fund will help to develop innovative projects for years to come.

The Friends of Johnson County Agriculture Fund could assist in the following, but would not be limited to:

          1.  Assisting in finding avenues of "seed money" for new agricultural development;
          2.  Providing financial support for Johnson County 4-H programs, Johnson County High School FFA programs, and other educational efforts related to agriculture; and
          3.  Awarding scholarships for those connected with Johnson County Agriculture.

It is our intent for the Fund to continue to grow and thrive in the future through a Harvest Hoppers program.  Successfully implemented in other Indiana counties, the Harvest Hoppers program involves sending one or two semi tractor trailers around to several farming locations in the county twice a year collecting donations of soybeans and corn.  These donations would then be sold with the proceeds going to the Fund for the purpose of strengthening the agricultural community.  Those interested in participating in the project could also donate grain at one of the local elevators or submit a cash gift directly to the Johnson County Community Foundation.

If you have a love for the land and are interested in strengthening the agricultural community, we would ask that you consider making a gift to the Friends of Johnson County Agricultural Fund. All donations, and the Fund itself, are maintained by the Johnson County Community Foundation with input from the local agricultural community.
